Birchalls the Riding Shop is a family run business originally established in 1897 by James Birchall. Some of our customers may remember the shop in Bank Street, which specialised in tailor made clothing for hunting. In 1980 Birchalls moved out of town into a new location in the Sutton Road. With more space the saddlery and leisure riding side of the business was increased. In 2000, with horse riding becoming more popular as a leisure activity, Birchalls made a final move to Pleasant View Garden Centre in Chart Sutton. Once again the much larger premises enabled the shop to expand all areas of the business.
Birchalls offers a complete range of riding clothing both formal and casual, meeting the needs of both the serious competitor and the leisure rider. From bridles to bandages and forks to fly rugs, Birchalls has something to suit every horse and pony. The shop stocks an extensive range of horse feed, supplements, wormers and bedding.
Birchalls expertise has been known throughout the county for many years. Our staff are trained to the highest standards, specialising in riding hat and body protector fitting for all levels of rider. Providing exceptional customer service, Birchalls’ staff are always available to offer help and advice. The emphasis is of course on safety, style and value.
